REACH Celebrates Seuss

The GES students and REACH celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday! The day began with a Dr. Seuss parade. Some students dressed up as their favorite storybook character while some students picked an interesting vocabulary word and create a Vocabulary hat to show it's meaning. The fun continued as Snowbird made a visit to k-2 students. He read 2 books, fiction and non-fiction, about penguins. The students learned all about penguin's adaptations and how they take care of their young! Our 3-5 students got to step into the artistic shoes of Dr. Seuss! Through the use of an online Skype session with Harpoons, they learned how to transform letters and numbers into Seuss inspired artwork. What a wonderful way to celebrate literacy! Check out the snapshots of all the fun, learning below!
